It is the government’s responsibility to provide national defense, public safety and a solid infrastructure. These are the three main tenants of government. In addition to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the government is there to serve the people, not the special interest groups, or the person who can write the largest checks. It is time to restore integrity to the office of Congress for this district, it is time that the people are heard, and it is time that we come together to reduce taxes, improve our schools, fix our roadways, and take the special interest groups out of politics.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin stated at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland: “the US should take a lesson from the pages of Russian history and not exercise ‘excessive intervention in economic activity and blind faith in the state’s omnipotence’”. Simply put, the Prime Minister was drawing a parallel to Russia’s failed policies that the US is trying to invoke – policies that the Prime Minister says “cost Russia dearly”. It is for this reason we need change – and I am the person to bring it to Washington.
